Sidewalk Ghosts / "Purposefully Look To Expand Your View"

“Make friends of many different backgrounds.

(And you’ll learn we’re not so different after all.)” —Maren and Brian

Maren Brian

Maren, Brian, Thank you for sending us your photo and words of wisdom.

It is so easy to get caught in our own worlds and in this new digital age, forgetting about the power of real contact and face to face.

May we all take a moment of pause, and as you suggest… send more cards and letters.

Readers, we want to hear from you. Please take a moment to send us your thoughts regarding our founding questions.

Operation-365… we were once “Strangers…” now we are “Friends.”

If you had the stage… the undivided attention of the world… and all were listening… What words of wisdom, council or advice would you share?

“Write actual cards and letters– everyone loves getting a handwritten note in the mail or personally delivered. Be kind to everyone; we all have burdens that don’t show. Help each other more.”

Looking toward the future… as far, or as close as you want to imagine (one year or hundreds of years)– What do you think we should be doing now to prepare for the future?

“To survive as a world, we need to build understanding. Purposefully look to expand your view. Make friends of many different backgrounds. (And you’ll learn we’re not so different after all.)”

Sidewalk Ghosts / Interview 446: “Everything Else Falls Into Place”

Sidewalk Ghosts / "Know Thy SELF"

“Know Thy SELF. We must look within to find love, peace, and beauty, and when we find it within, we will find it outside, in our lives, in people, in our existence…”

Great wisdom from Australia. Say hello to Melanie, our first Interview-365 friend of 2014.
Melanie’s words are inspiring and her thoughts towards the future call us to ponder our current impact as to what’s ahead.
Melanie, Thank you for sharing and it is with open arms that we welcome you to Operation-365.

If you had the stage… the undivided attention of the world… and all were listening… What words of wisdom, council or advice would you share?

“Know Thy SELF. We must look within to find love, peace, and beauty, and when we find it within, we will find it outside, in our lives, in people, in our existence. First one must face down the fears that are stopping them from accessing the deepest wellspring of knowledge inside of us all, the Source of all life. Once we look each fear square in the eye, walk through it, feel it, observe it, allow it to be heard, then we can let it go, because in the light, coming out of the shadows, it will disappear. As we pull out each fear, we allow room for more love, more understanding, more clarity, more beauty, and more peace, until we are filled to the brim with all these qualities and emptied of all the hate and judgment and guilt and jealousy and resentment and fear that we all project out into the world. Instead we will project the light we find within, and all the shadows and dark places in the world will be filled with the light and joy of your own heart. We need only to take care of our own hearts, and if we all did that, if we all took responsibility for our feelings and thoughts, we, together can make a heaven on earth.”

Looking toward the future… as far, or as close as you want to imagine (one year or hundreds of years)– What do you think we should be doing now to prepare for the future?

“Stay in the moment, be clear in the moment, be peaceful and loving in this moment, for this moment becomes the future. If you don’t take care of right now, the future will never be taken care of. The future is how you feel right now, what you see right now. Give your vision to the moment so it may become the future.”

Sidewalk Ghosts / Interview 445: "Stuff Like This"

“’Alright… I’ll quote the peace movement. Once you’ve marched around the United States, back and forth… from Pasadena to New York and back like four times. 27,000 miles. ‘Overcome evil with good, falsehood with truth, hatred with love…’” —Dale

Sidewalk Ghosts / Interview 444: “I’m Just A Kid In An Older Body”

“Try to imagine yourself as if you’re gonna meet yourself for the first time. What would you want yourself, to pretty much, think about you?” —Beast

Sidewalk Ghosts / Interview 443: “OK, So I’m A One World Person!”

“You need to step outside the prejudices and the mindset you were raised with, or have accumulated over the many years, and look at things from a new perspective…” —Sherrie

Sidewalk Ghosts / Interview 442: “Pay It Forward… Like The Movie”

“Enjoy peoples differences, including silly. Laugh as much as you can. Smile. Do goofy things. You know, to get other people to smile and come out of their shell. Don’t just look at people who are different with a, you know, oh gosh they’re awful because they are acting so silly, or so weird, or whatever. Or because they are a different color, or they are too old…” —Patricia (with George)

Sidewalk Ghosts / Interview 441: “They Need Love”

“To many people, they work a lot, they forgot about their kids…” —Orlando

I could write a long essay about Orlando. But to keep it short let me share a few qualities of this kind man: Humility, intelligence, caring, politeness, acceptance, courage and a loving commitment to family. Enough said. Orlando, welcome to Operation-365 my new friend.

Sidewalk Ghosts / Interview 439: “The Moments That We Have Now”

“I guess if you think too much about work and business the future can be a little scary…” —David
